Reflection of work so far

We are nearly finished with our thriller film, we have just the music to finish off and some editing as well as credits, I am pleased with the progress we have made and glad that we have sticked to our storyboard, although there is a phone scene we've added, but that is all. We all think that the outcome we have got is how we imagined it and it gives off the effect we wanted to, of mystery, jelously and anger this all represented through the relationship between Amie and me. We have used a range of applications such as Final Cut, Live Type, Garage Band and others. We hope to continue to add to the effect of our opening.

Script

- Tara runs through the woods away from amie, amie and the situation stays a mystery untill later it gives indications as to what was happening- (In slow motion)- Tracking shot.

- Camera is placed on the floor in a slanted position, following Taras legs and feet (slow motion)

-Tara runs to a dead end- Long shot.

- Close up of Amies hand on Tara's shoulder, with Tara turning to look right into the camera with fear

-'9 Months Earlier' text appears on screen- text in Red and black background.

-Zoom in/Out shot of 'unknown' caller on the phone.

-Over the shoulder shot of Amie hiding behind a piller whilst taking photos of Tara,Steph and Jess walking.

-Close up of Amie holding the camera to her face, She takes a photo. - Extreme close up of the Flash, the flash goes off and the screen turns white.

-Amie in her room looking through old photos of when they all used to be friends. Lay them out on the floor

- pick one up, zoom into her holding a photo of her and Tara, picks up another of Tara, Steph and jess, and scribbles Tara’s head out and rips it up.

- Writes a sign saying ‘what goes around comes around’

Synopsis of our opening

Because our thriller film is just the beginning 2 minutes we don’t want to give too much away, we want to just give an idea on the things that will later appear in the thriller film. We want to start with someone running through the woods, the relevance of this is the stalker is chasing them through the woods, which is starting with a flash back. We then want it to say 9 months earlier and showing things such as the stalker filming the friends, taking pictures, looking on the person’s Facebook to show how it all began and how the obsession began. The idea of our film is that the girl that is stalking the group of friends used to be a part of  the group, but now she doesn’t have many friends and is jealous of the group of friends and the one girl in particular, she goes to great lengths to seek revenge to the girl. Amie plays the stalker and we want to keep her as anonymous as possible, research shows that audiences prefer it when the villain of a thriller film is not completely identified, giving it a sense of mystery and suspense, which is what we want to portray.

Questionnaire and results

I made up a questionnare to ask aduiences what they liked and disliked about thriller films, to see what was popular and what people thought made a good thriller film. With the results I got it allows me to know what kinds of things people like to see and what kind of things people don't, this allows me to use the facts in my thriller film to make sure audiences enjoy it as much as possible. The questions I asked and the results I got are the following:

4) Do you prefer when you see or don't see the villan in  the thriller film? which do you find more entertaining? 5 people said " don't see the villan" and only 2 people said they prefered it when they saw the villan.

5) Do you prefer horror or thrillers storylines?
all 7 people I asked said they prefered thriller films.

Certificate

I would say this film comes under  the PG certificate. There is no violence and no swearing, no inapproprite scenes but some of the subjects are not suitable for young children.

Schedule

We plan to do areas we can in college time, such as in the public place etc. But there are scenes we need to do after college such as at a house, we need to organise this with all members to make sure they can attend. We have arranged a schedule:

14/3/11: Filming at wellington ( scenes 13 - 16)
15/3/11: Filming ( scenes 18 - 19)
